SECTION -3- INSTALLING & RUNNING MediaWrangler
===============================================================================
*Important Note!!* The database portion of MediaWrangler requires that the
disk drives in your computer have valid, unique VOLUME labels. This is a
name that DOS gives to your drive to help identify it. You can assign
a VOLUME label to your drive using the DOS label command:
1. From the DOS prompt ( i.e., c:\> ) type:
c:\> label d: (where d: is the drive you wish to label)
2. Enter a label of up to 11 characters
3. Thats it! Now MediaWrangler will be able to find your media, even on
a network, assuming the label you provided is unique.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for all drives on your system, ESPECIALLY removeable
hard drive cartridges.
A. Installing MediaWrangler:
a. Select File|Run from the Windows Program Manager or File Manager.
b. Enter <drive>:\setup.exe on the input line (where <drive> is the letter
designating your CD-ROM,
for example, d:\setup.exe).
c. The setup program will then install the MediaWrangler software and a
few demo Roundups.
d. The setup program will create a MediaWrangler program group and icons
which can be used to run the program.
B. Damaged or Bad CD-ROM:
If you have a bad CD contact AltaVista Sales at
